The club runs the following competitions
Teams: Hildrow Cup played on the 1st Thursday of every month.
The Cup will be played on the same basis as last year. Each
team's net imps will be converted to Victory Points and the team
with the highest average VP, having played at least 7 sessions,
will be the winner.
A new VP scale will be in use for 2007/08. See link below
Pairs: The Birthday Cup, a single-session pairs will take place on or near February 14th.
There will be a prize for the best pair over the whole year (the new pairs trophy). This will be calculated on an average percentage basis.
The 10 leading pairs will also compete for the Cowpland Cup, which will be held annually on a date in June.
For 2007/08, all pairs who wish to enter the Cowpland Cup should register in advance on the form at the club. Both players will then be committed to that partnership for the Cup. This will ensure that players are playing with their favourite partner. The top 10 registered pairs will compete for the cup.
There will be additional prizes for pairs on Sundays, Tuesdays and Thursdays, and also the most improved pair over the year (The Mulcaster Cup).
Eligibility for all pairs competitions will be 10 games with the same partner
Individual competitions : there will be a prize for the highest average score on Sundays, Tuesdays and Thursdays. Eligibility is at least half the maximum number of sessions for Tuesdays and Thursdays and one third of the maximum for Sundays.
There will also be a prize for the best overall player over all 3 days and the best improver (Peggy Drage Cup).
Eligibilty will be at least 30 sessions and for improvers a starting position below 50%.
